Driving to Skye
Driving from Edinburgh or Glasgow to Dunvegan, will take around 6 hours. From Inverness around 3 hours. Do allow extra time to stop and enjoy the stunning scenery on the way.
Once you get away from the cities the roads are spectacular, generally empty, well signposted and dotted with good places to take a break. For many visitors the relaxed driving experience is an important part of their holiday.
If using your Sat nav, please ensure that you ask it to take you via Kyle of Lochalsh and the Skye bridge. If not, it is likely to take you via Mallaig and the ferry crossing over to Armadale, although beautiful, it is the long way round!
From the Skye Bridge take the A87 to Sligachan and then turn left onto the A883, this will bring you into Dunvegan. Look out for the Health Centre on your left and you will find our large white house directly opposite.
